ON THE BALLOT NOVEMBER 3, 2026

TOURISTS PAY.

TULSA WINS.

Tulsans love great venues, great events and a vibrant downtown — and just like your home, our City’s assets need care. On November 3, 2026, voters decide whether to update Tulsa’s Hotel Guest Tax, a fee paid only by hotel, motel and short-term rental guests. It hasn’t changed in over 40 years, and Tulsa is now the only major city in the region still charging the old rate.

Tourists pay it. Tulsa wins—with better venues, more visitors and stronger local jobs, all without costing residents a dime.

It's the only tax we don't pay!

TOURISTS PAY

Only guests booking a hotel, motel or short-term rental stay in Tulsa pay this tax — It will NOT increase Tulsans’ property tax, income tax or everyday sales tax.

WE'RE BEHIND

Enid (12%), Oklahoma City (9.25%), Midwest City (9.25%) and Norman (10%) have all already updated their hotel tax rates. Tulsa’s has stayed at 5% since the 1980s.

TULSA WINS

The additional revenue goes toward maintaining BOK Center, Arvest Convention Center and Tulsa Performing Arts Center, plus tourism marketing and economic development that bring jobs and visitor spending into our city.

WHY NOW

TULSA'S BIGGEST VENUES ARE FALLING BEHIND

The clock is already running.

BOK Center hasn’t had a major renovation since it opened in 2008. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City is investing heavily in new venues ahead of a major arena project opening in 2028. If Tulsa doesn’t act, we risk losing concerts, conventions and tournaments to cities that have already made this investment.
